ABOUT REORDER PAGES.

Page order in a scanned or assembled PDF doesn't always come out right the first time — a duplex scanner that fed pages out of sequence, or a document assembled from parts that need shuffling into a different reading order. minipdftoosz's Reorder Pages tool shows every page as a thumbnail and lets you drag them into whatever order the document should actually read in, then rebuilds the PDF to match.

This is a pure page-order operation: no page is added, removed, rotated, or altered in any other way — pdf-lib simply writes the same set of page objects back out in the sequence you arranged them in the interface. Fonts, images, and text on each individual page stay exactly as they were; only the order in which pages appear when you flip through the document changes.

A frequent real-world trigger is duplex (double-sided) scanning gone wrong: some scanners output odd pages first, then even pages in reverse, requiring an interleave-and-reverse fix before the document reads correctly front to back. Rather than rescanning, dragging the visible thumbnails into the right sequence here fixes it directly, once, without needing to understand or reverse-engineer exactly what the scanner did.

Reordering is also useful for compiled documents where sections were added out of sequence — an appendix accidentally placed before the main body, or a late addition that needs to slot in mid-document rather than at the end. Because you see actual page thumbnails while dragging, it's easy to confirm visually that the final order is correct before committing to the download.

If a document needs both reordering and a page removed or added, doing the reorder first generally makes the follow-up step easier to reason about — it's simpler to say "delete the third page" when you can already see the pages in their intended final order, rather than trying to track which original page number ends up where after a planned-but-not-yet-applied reorder.

People fixing duplex-scan ordering issues are probably the single most common users of Reorder Pages, but it's equally useful for anyone assembling a document from parts added at different times — inserting a late addition into the correct place in an otherwise-finished multi-section report without starting the whole assembly over from scratch.

It's worth noting that reordering pages doesn't change anything about page numbering printed on the pages themselves (if any) — only their position in the file. If the document's visible page numbers need to match the new order too, that's a separate step handled by Add Page Numbers after reordering is complete.

★ QUICK TIPS
  • For very long documents, use the page-number labels alongside thumbnails rather than relying on thumbnail content alone to distinguish similar-looking pages.
  • Reordering doesn't fix rotation — if pages are also sideways, run Rotate Pages either before or after.
  • This tool doesn't duplicate pages; if you need a page to appear twice, that's outside its current scope.

Yes. Free forever. No sign-up. No credit card. No trial.

Do you upload my files?

Never. Everything runs locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly.

What is the max file size?
